Snowflake Events in 2011 March 12 - July 3 TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME. At Citifield in Flushing Meadow, NY, about 50 children of fallen U.S. service men and women gathered with their families to enjoy a holiday weekend baseball game between the Yankees and the Mets. The “Snowflake event,” planned and coordinated by the Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs, Mitchell Modell, President of Modell’s Sporting Goods, and Micki Sander, Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Snowball Express, treated the families to a special day that included baseball signings and a meet and greet with the players.
A quote from a Snowball Mom. "I just wanted to drop a quick line and thank you again for such a great time in New York. Craig and I had a blast and made it home safely. We have had a lot of company since then and Craig has been telling them all about the trip. See you in December." July 24 - The Great Lakes Loons hosted a "FUN DAY IN THE SUN" at their ballpark in Wisconsin for a day of pictures, running bases, signatures, food, meeting Snowball Friends and watching a great baseball game between the Great Lakes Loons and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
