John Baca
U.S. Army (Retired)
Medal of Honor Recipient
Chairman of the Snowball Express Military Advisory Committee
John Baca, a San Diego-area resident, has dedicated the last several years of his life to visiting and mentoring our wounded warriors at the Balboa Naval Hospital. He takes the lead with his compassion for our military members and families, working to ease the pain and facilitate the healing. It is ironic that he, himself, was a patient at Balboa hospital in 1970 spending a year recovering from his wound from Vietnam.
John is one of 105 living members of our nation’s highest award for valor. He is also a constant escort and friend of the oldest living recipient of the MOH, John Finn, 98 years young, who was awarded for actions at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941
John was an inspiration to the 2007 Snowball families and children, as he helped gift our Purple Heart beads to all the children.
He is a member of VVA 785 and the Medal of Honor Society
