Snowball V is five months down the road, while that seems a long road with some twists, it is really almost here. Our Executive Director, Mike Hogg and his team of gremlins have been working behind the scenes to create a magical week for all of our Snowball Families. The Board of Directors has been diligently providing the support his team needs to create this event. Our air angel American Airlines has started the process to insure we can bring our Snowball Families to Dallas from December 9, to December 13, 2010. The Dallas Sheraton has agreed to host all of our families and friends for this year. For the first time ever, we will all be together in one hotel. Each day has its own special signature for fun, fantasia and friendship. Our new IT System is up and running and we are grateful that the families signing up to re-register as well as our new families have a simplified and easier system of information gathering. It is also easier for our Family Coordinators to connect with their assigned families on a regular basis. This Family Coordinator connection will enable Snowball Express to have personal feedback from our families to our organization at the end of Snowball Express V.
The wonderful world of Snowflakes continues to grow across the United States and we are excited about the many opportunities organizations and individuals are providing to our kids for enjoyment and connectivity throughout the year. Snowflake events will also encourage others to learn about Snowball Express and hopefully open doors to new children who are now in need of feeling connected to others just like themselves.
Our new Snowball Express, Inc. office is open and with the help of the Wisconsin Ladies Auxiliary VFW, it is almost totally furnished. We are also looking forward to finalizing a donation from EAS for two additional computers so that our volunteers will be able to assist Mike Hogg in his quest to get the word out and to raise the additional funds we need to broaden the spectrum of Snowball Express. Yes, the process of raising funds continues to drive our Board of Directors and our many sponsors as well. There are thousands of children who we hope to continue to service and many who we hope will learn about The Snowball Express mission to create new memories and hope for the children of our fallen military heroes since September 11, 2001.
